Testimonials
The Jobs for Illinois (JILG) program has had a very positive effect on our community and school. Many students now have the opportunity to learn job skills, interview stategies, attend leadership workshops, serve as mentors for other students, and a variety of other experiences. The Flora High School's JILG students leave the program with a greater sense of purpose due to time spent on community service projects. The community has a greater appreciation for high school students because of the help they have received. The school and the community have a tighter bond because of the quality of the JILG program.
- Darrell Gummert- Flora High School Principal
The JILG program has had a major impact on reducing district drop-outs as well as preparing our students for post-secondary success.
- Dr. Marleis Trover, Superintendent, Vienna High School (Vienna, IL)
I have seen the JILG program take students who have not yet defined their goals and create community-minded leaders. The growth in their self-esteem and confidence is amazing. This is the best program of the decade.
- Dr. Jerry Pepple, Mt. Vernon Township High School (Mt. Vernon, IL)
The JILG student Career Association has brought business executives to our school to talk with out students, instituted accelerated reading contests with prizes donated by local businesses, and acted as official student hosts for our annual Career Night (the largest in the Chicago area).
- Al Pretkelis, Principal, Kelly High School (CPS)
JILG is an avenue of success for a group of students who would otherwise have slipped through the cracks. It helps them to become involved and to feel like they belong to something worthwhile. JILG may be the only organization of which they have ever been a part.
- Darren Hartry, Principal, PORTA High School (Petersburg, IL)
I have found the Jobs for Illinois Grads program to be one of, if not the most, successful educational programs I have ever been associated with as a superintendent of schools. I have found the organization to be superb, from the top to the bottom. I can think of no other program that has been as well received by the parents as has the Jobs for Illinois Grads program.
- David Elson, Superintendent, Litchfield High School (Litchfield, IL)
I know first-hand how the students appreciate learning about career options, sharpening their skill for the work world, and knowing that they have a career specialist that truly cares about their future.

- Linda J. Spicer, Superintendent, Flora Community Unit School District #35 (Flora, IL)
Our community benefits from the volunteerism of the JILG students and just as important, our students gain a sense of pride and self-esteem through service to others.
