Keshia Dotson

Keshia DotsonCongratulations to Keshia Dotson for being selected PORTA JILG’s Student of the Month for November, 2007!! Keshia is the chapter reporter for PORTA JILG. Keshia attended the Leadership Development Conference in Flora, IL in September.

Besides writing articles for the newsletter, Keshia managed to manage her time to put together the powerpoint shown at our I & I Ceremony this month. She put in many hours to ensure it was great.
Keshia ran for the reporter position because she is considering a career as a journalist. As a result, she is getting some basic experience for her future career. Keshia works well with everyone, and has dedicated herself to her JILG position. Keshia is a member of the PORTA Poms and plans to attend college in the fall to major in English, but has not decided which college she will attend.

Keshia JohnsonWhat school do you attend?
PORTA High School in Petersburg, IL

In college, what do you plan to be your major?
English with an emphasis in literature. Words fascinate me. I love reading something and trying to figure out what the author was thinking when he/she wrote it.

What is the one thing you love the most about JILG?
I love JILG because of the different things I’ve experienced such as the Leadership Development Conference in Flora, IL in September and the Initiation and Installation Ceremony this past month.

How has JILG helped you or impacted you?
JILG has helped me be more organized, and it has taught me not to procrastinate on planning my future.

What is one thing that you learned in JILG and how has it helped you?
I’ve learned how to present myself in a more graceful manner.
