Despite the lack of JILG’s annual funding renewal from the Illinois state legislature for this school year, Springfield Southeast and Springfield Lanphier high schools have continued on with the JILG program anyway because of the tremendous value it brings to the students. The Springfield school district thought it was a vital program for its disadvantaged and at-risk students. Several other statewide schools have also kept the program and are trying to manage it from within their own budgets.
