Senior JILG student Jordan Luttrell received national attention when his interception versus Martinsville this past football season won the UPS Delivery Intercept Challenge.
The video was submited by Jordan’s uncle Rob Boose. It was one of 176 videos that were submitted throughout the nation.
The remarkable catch was one of a handful that was selected by former NFL quarterback Archie Manning. Those videos that Mr. Manning selected then were put on the UPS website to be voted on by anyone in the nation.
On February 24th UPS and Archie Manning visited Flora to honor Jordan at a community wide assembly and a private tailgate dinner.
A check for $25,000 was presented to Rob Boose by UPS for entering the winning video. A separate check for $10,000 was awarded to the Flora High School football program by Archie and the UPS officials.
Illinois House of Representative David Reis addressed those in attendance and informed them that he introduced a resolution which was read on the House floor, recognizing this accomplishment by Jordan.
Former NFL quarterback Archie Manning was next to speak. He congratulated Jordan and then encouraged the audience to enjoy the journey of life . He concluded by saying to remember your priorities, have courage in making tough decisions, and most importantly take a step back and always try to make the right decision.
